Misc. Thoughts on Traveling in An RV

Traveling in an RV takes some adjustment to a number of things.....

Times for about everything - We find on-the-road we go to bed earlier, and get up earlier. Part of the reason is simple. The driver gets tired. Part of the reason is where we are.....FAR North of our Tampa home, and thus it gets light much earlier (about 5:30 am in some places we've visited).

We also live differently. Cooking on board...sometimes outside on the Baby Q...is a project of keeping it simple....though Duchess does a marvelous job of cooking with our on board kitchen. Actually, the kitchen has micro-three burner stove-oven-twin sinks, and refer-freezer large enough to keep us happy. This morning's brunch was steak and egg omelet with slices of large fresh tomato and great toast from the last of our Italian-style bread. We buy much more of our fruit/veggies, etc. from roadside stands when we are traveling. This one, located along I-90 near Ellensburg, WA, was owned by a young man who abandoned farming to set up the stand. They sell wines (Washington State wines, of course), fruit, veggies, jams, jellies, and all sorts of good things.

Where we are also dictates what we do. TV is poor to non-existent in some places....and in others we might have 50 plus channels. There is no consistency. We read much more on-the-road, and our two laptops get a big workout as I post and communicate and Duchess and I both play a number of games on the PCs. We did add Sprint laptop wireless to both computers this trip, and they have worked well in all but a few places.

More thoughts in a later post.
