Custer State Park & Wildlife Loop Road

The Custer State Park. Buffalo!

The buffalo are shedding their winter shaggy coats, and in fact look somewhat bedraggled currently. They help their shedding process with frequent rubs against trees. They are so huge the trees shake as the buffalo rub. There were also herds of Antelope in the park, roaming free and not very fearful of man and his automobile.
The chipmunks here are smaller than in the Blue Ridge. They, however, have no fear. Here a lady offers a cracker, and the chipmunks walked right up and took a bite.
On the loop road we passed through an area of red rock walls.
For my Elk friends a "Haven!"
It was a great trip and the views were fantastic.
